Bunyore loses beloved son: The cruel hand of death has robbed Kenya in general and the people of Bunyore in particular, a shining star. Dr Ezekiel Alembi, the scholar, poet, playwright and entrepreneur, died on Saturday at Mater Misericordiae Hospital in Nairobi aged just 49 of a heart attack. An accomplished scholar, Dr Alembi was also known for his entrepreneurial and creative abilities. As a director of Equity Bank, the late Alembi was in the vanguard of sensitising the youth of Bunyore to seek loans and start business enterprises. He was the chairman of the Literature Department at Kenyatta University and also a director of Kenyatta University Radio. Dr Alembi was the National Chairman of the Kenya Schools and Colleges Drama Festival, the African President of the International Festival of Young Playwrights and also Vice President for the International Society for Folk Narrative Research in charge of Africa.
