Majali, Wesonga give notice of teachers strikeKenya National Union of Teachers (Knut) has given the Government one month to review teachers’ salaries. Knut Acting Secretary General Lawrence Majali has warned that if Government fails to honour its pledge, they will call a countrywide strike. He, however, asked teachers to be patient as the union negotiates for better remuneration. Majali disclosed that the Teachers Service Remuneration Committee has been meeting since May. "We are hopeful the Government will fulfil its pledge," Knut Chairman George Wesonga added. Majali asked teachers to spare their September salaries for any eventuality in case they down their tools.
