Migratory history: The migratory history of Abitakho is largely intertwined with that of the rest of the Luhya sub tribes who point to Egypt as their original land. The rest is defined by clan superiority and warfare. An interesting aspect to the geonology of Abitakho is the link with the Masai. Prof Gideon Were, the acclaimed historian on Abaluhya, says that the founder of the Abashimuli clan was Kasam who is referred to as a Masai. An important fact to note is that Omwitakho and Omwisukha were brothers who went on to found the two sub tribes bearing their names. Not only are they neighbours, the two share their love of isikuti dance and bullfighting. More>>> |
